WhatsApp Media Assist Privacy Policy

WhatsApp Media Assist is an independent browser extension for media files opened in WhatsApp Web. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.

What Stays Local

WhatsApp Media Assist processes images and PDFs locally in your browser. The extension does not upload, sell, share, or transmit:

• WhatsApp images or PDF files
• chat messages, captions, contacts, phone numbers, or conversation history
• WhatsApp media URLs
• downloaded filenames
• contents of merged/cropped/resized/compressed files

Temporary editing and merge data is held in browser memory only while the media viewer, merge workspace, or browser tab is open. It is cleared after completion, stack clear, tab close, or idle processor shutdown.

Account And Sync Data

If you sign in or use Pro features, the licensing server processes only the data needed to operate account, billing, sync, and entitlement services:

• email address
• random installation/device ID and device name
• authentication tokens
• plan and entitlement status
• extension preferences and saved pipeline/template configurations
• sync revision and timestamps
• payment reference, amount, currency, status, refund status, and Razorpay event records

Payment card, UPI, bank, and wallet details are entered on Razorpay-hosted pages. WhatsApp Media Assist does not receive or store those payment credentials.

No refunds.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for how you use WhatsApp Media Assist and for complying with WhatsApp's terms and policies. WhatsApp Media Assist is not responsible for any WhatsApp account restriction, ban, data loss, business loss, or other consequence caused by how you use the extension.

Permissions

• Storage: saves settings, local presets, account session, and signed entitlement.
• Alarms: refreshes entitlement/settings on a lightweight schedule.
• web.whatsapp.com: detects the opened media viewer and displays local tools.
• Licensing API: handles OTP sign-in, Pro entitlement, checkout, and optional settings/template sync.

Service Providers

• Razorpay: hosted payments and payment status.
• Brevo: email OTP delivery.
• WhatsApp Media Assist API: account, sync, entitlement, and admin backup services.

Retention And Control

Only one device session is active per account. Signing in on a new device revokes the previous server session. You can sign out from the extension options page. Server-side user data can be reviewed or removed by the service administrator.
